1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Coursedude (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on our website. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email or an in-app notification before any new terms take effect. By continuing to access or use the Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.
2. Description of Service
Coursedude provides AI-powered lecture translation, note generation, and study assistance tools designed for international students. The Service includes: • Real-time simultaneous interpretation and transcription of lectures • AI-generated smart notes and study summaries • Offline audio/video transcription and translation • AI study assistant for Q&A and exam review • Course management and lecture recording organization The Service is available as a desktop application for macOS and Windows. Some features may require an active internet connection and a valid subscription.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.
4. User Accounts
To access certain features, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information, including a valid email address. You are responsible for: • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials • All activities that occur under your account • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account You must not share your account with others, create multiple accounts, or allow unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Subscription and Payments
Coursedude offers both free and paid subscription plans. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees as described at the time of purchase. • Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis depending on the plan you select • All fees are non-refundable except as expressly set forth herein or as required by applicable law • We may change subscription fees upon 30 days' prior notice; price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle • You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
6. Free Trial
We may offer free trial periods for paid subscription plans. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your trial will automatically convert to a paid subscription and your payment method will be charged. You may only use one free trial per account.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not: • Use the Service to violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation • Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any third party • Record or transcribe lectures, meetings, or conversations without obtaining the consent of all participants as required by applicable law • Upload, transmit, or distribute any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable • Attempt to access other users' accounts or any non-public portions of the Service • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Service • Use the Service to develop a competing product or service • Use automated scripts or bots to access or interact with the Service
8. AI-Generated Content
The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate translations, summaries, notes, and other content. You acknowledge that: • AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions and should not be relied upon as the sole source of information for academic purposes • You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before use • Coursedude does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated content • AI-generated translations are approximations and may not perfectly convey the original meaning
9. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, functionality, and underlying technology are owned by Coursedude and are protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. Your Content: You retain ownership of any lecture recordings, notes, and other content you create or upload through the Service ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant Coursedude a limited, non-exclusive license to process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service. We do not use your User Content to train AI models without your explicit consent.
10. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services to provide certain features (e.g., speech recognition, AI language models, cloud storage). Your use of these integrated services is subject to the respective third parties' terms and privacy policies. Coursedude is not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party services.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Coursedude does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that defects will be corrected, or that the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLASSMATE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. In no event shall Coursedude's total liability exceed the amount you have paid to Coursedude in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Coursedude, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
14. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from your account settings or by contacting our support team. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. We will make your User Content available for export for 30 days after termination, after which it may be permanently deleted.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Coursedude is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the applicable arbitration body.
16. General Provisions
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Waiver: The failure of Coursedude to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision. Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Coursedude regarding the Service. Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. Coursedude may assign these Terms without restriction.
